Abstract

The Survey of Health, Ageing and Retirement in Europe (SHARE) is a multidisciplinary and cross-national panel database of micro data on health, socio-economic status and social and family networks of about 140,000 individuals aged 50 or older (around 380,000 interviews). SHARE covers 27 European countries and Israel. SHARE contributes to research about the social, health and economic impact of COVID-19. In June 2020, SHARE resumed Wave 8 fieldwork via telephone interviews including a special “SHARE COVID-19” questionnaire. The data collected with this questionnaire will allow examining in-depth how the risk group of the older individuals is coping with the health-related and socioeconomic impact of COVID-19. The great advantage of these data will be the possibility to measure and interpret differences in a cross-country and a longitudinal dimension. Find all details in our Special Dataset Section.
