Abstract

This series consists of a file containing response data from a representative national sample of 22,284 households and an over sample of 15,760 households in census enumeration districts with large non-white populations. Data are reported for the households, families, and individuals (persons and adults). Household data includes the geographic identifiers, housing and kitchen facility characteristics, heating characteristics, age of dwelling, and dwelling type. Family data includes number of persons and adults in family, home ownership, gross assets and asset types, rental expenses, total debts and debt types, net worth, total family income, and income by source. Person data includes relationship in household, age, race, sex, education, and earning. Adult data includes age, race, sex, marital status, number and dates of birth for children, education, military service, employment status, hours worked the previous week, wages and income, occupation, and the socio-economic status of their job.
