Abstract
Banco de Portugal is the central bank of the Portuguese Republic. The nature and tasks of Banco de Portugal are defined in its Organic Law. Banco de Portugal is a public-law legal person, with administrative and financial autonomy and own property. The organs of the Bank are the Governor, the Board of Directors, the Board of Auditors and the Advisory Board. The Bank is part of the Eurosystem and the European System of Central Banks, the Single Supervisory Mechanism and the Single Resolution Mechanism. The Bank has two core missions: to maintain price stability and to promote the stability of the financial system.
